Nowadays, the e-book format is increasing in popularity due to the emergence of portable devices that can store an entire library in a very tiny amount of space. Barnes & Noble, the famous publishing company, has launched its own e-reader software, which is compatible with many devices, such as iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, and also PC and Mac. You can download the program for free from the developer's site just by choosing the device which you want to install it on. The program comes with a nice collection of pre-loaded classic books in electronic format, like Dracula, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, and more. It also includes the current issue of the New York Times.

Once you have downloaded the program, you need to create an account by providing your name, e-mail and a password. Then, the free content will activate so you can start reading immediately. The program also has a number of nice features. For example, you can highlight any passage of the book you are reading, add notes or look up the meaning of a word in Wikipedia. It also lets you store the last page you were reading the last time you used the program, and adjust the text and margin, thus making your reading more comfortable. You can go directly to B&N e-shop by simply clicking on the corresponding button of the control panel. There, you can purchase and download any of the e-books offered by the company in just a few seconds. If you own an e-reading device or are planning to purchase one, this program will be a very good addition to it.
